The Abba Museum
A lovely 20 min walk from the Diplomat Hotel along the water. If you are an ABBA fan, this is for you. Fun, interactive and playful and you get to sing along with the ABBAs if you want. If you don't want to walk you can take the no 7 streetcar from Nybrokajen (right across from Diplomat) towards Waldemarsudde.
Make sure you book tickets in advance and arrive on time to your time slot.

The Vasa Museum
Close to the ABBA Museum and surrounded by some of Sweden's most fascinating history, this area is well worth a visit. The highlight is the Vasa Museum, home to the Vasa — a 64-gun warship that sank on her maiden voyage in Stockholm harbour in 1628 and was salvaged more than 300 years later. Today, it remains one of the world's best-preserved 17th-century ships. If you're into kings, history, or impressive boats, this one's for you. (Thankfully, Swedish engineering has improved since then.)
Gamla Stan Walk
(Old Town Stockholm)
Take a walk across the bridge and experience the 700 year old part of Stockholm city called Gamla Stan.
Start at Diplomat and walk along Strandvägen and you will first pass The Royal Dramatic Theatre.
The Royal Dramatic Theatre is Sweden's national stage for "spoken drama", founded in 1788. Around one thousand shows are put on annually on the theatre's five running stages. The theatre has been at its present location in the Art Nouveau building at Nybroplan, Stockholm, since 1908.
Then, take a walk to Lydmar Hotel for a glass of Champagne on the waterfront. Walk across the bridge and, if you have time, take a tour to check out the Royal Swedish castle and the crown jewels. Otherwise, keep going to Stortorget, Sweden's oldest plaza, where the Stockholm blood bath took place in 1520. Then continue to Mårten Trotzigs gränd, Stockholm's most narrow alley.
If you want to, you can take the ferry back to Strandvägen (Diplomat Hotel is located at Strandvägen)
(SL Ferry 82 + 80): Take the Djurgården ferry (Route 82) from Slussen (Räntmästartrappan) across to Allmänna gränd on Djurgården. From there, transfer to commuter ferry 80 (Sjövägen), which takes you directly to Nybroplan on Strandvägen. The journey takes about 20–30 minutes in total and you can pay with Apple pay.

The Richardson's favourites
Östermalmshallen
A bustling food scene with great cafés (fika...look for the famous princess cake) and restaurants. Try the amazing middle eastern food at Beirut Café, they have the best tabbouleh.
laid back lunch restaurant inside Hotel Diplomat with great food and ambiance. The Swedish meatballs are perfection here. This is were the Richardsons get a fika after a morning walk around Djurgården (Djurgårdsvarvet...see below)
The Richardson's go-to reastaurant on the water. Across the street from Diplomat.
We know Texas steaks are fantastic but Sperling...it is next level! Try the grass fed entrecote grilled over an open flame.
is an iconic luxury department store build in 1915.
basically around the corner from Diplomat. This café and bakery is one of Stockholm's best and with some luck, you can spot Princess Madeleine and her children here.
A Stockholm tradition. (you'll need a fart walk at some point...) Swedes love to walk and Djurgårdsvarvet is one of the most iconic and widely know walking paths. You start at the Djurgårdsbron (Djurgården bridge) with The Nordic Gods. Djurgården is a park, owned by the Royal Family and it is a beautiful walk along the Djurgården canal. You can also stop for a fika at Djurgårdsbrunn café where they serve soups, salads, sandwiches and...fika.
Shopping
For the bougie population, you will find high end brands and shops on and around Birger Jarlsgatan, Bibloteksgatan and Östermalmstorg.
For other types of shopping...you'll have to ask someone else...
